Bridge inspection in Pontypridd to inform future repairs

Bridge Street in Pontypridd is set to be closed to traffic in one direction on Sunday morning, to carry out an inspection of Victoria Bridge.
Rhondda Cynon Taf has said that the work will begin at midnight on Sunday, September 21, and is due to end by 10am on the same day.
During these hours, there will be a road closure to eastbound traffic only (travelling away from Pontypridd).
Traffic heading westbound (into Pontypridd) will be able to use Bridge Street as normal. Access will also be maintained for pedestrians.
An alternative route for eastbound traffic will be via Morgan Street, Gelliwastad Road, Catherine Street, Sardis Road, Broadway, A470 Cross Valley Link Road, the Bridge Street slip road and Bridge Street Roundabout – as shown on the following map.
The inspection work to Victoria Bridge will inform the scope of a future repair scheme to the structure.
